Who We Are

A company shaped by the water

cahayacrenas was founded in Singapore with one straightforward aim: to make time on the water feel considered and unhurried, for anyone who chooses it.

Our Story

Built from an appreciation of Singapore's waters

cahayacrenas began when its founders — experienced mariners with backgrounds in regional sailing and maritime operations — noticed that most yacht charter services in Singapore were shaped around high throughput rather than meaningful experience. Boats were filled, clocks were watched, and guests were moved along.

The company launched with a smaller fleet and a different approach. Each charter is handled personally. Crew are selected for temperament as much as technical skill. The vessels are maintained to a level that the team would be comfortable sailing on privately.

The name, Cahaya — meaning light in Malay — reflects the region's maritime heritage and the warm, lantern-lit mood the company tries to bring to every day on the water.

Our Mission

To arrange charters that feel personal and well-considered — where the guest's experience is the point, not the vessel utilisation rate.

Our Vision

A Singapore where anyone — from a solo traveller to a group marking a milestone — can spend a day or a week on the water without it feeling transactional.

Our Values

Transparency in pricing. Honesty about what each charter can and cannot provide. Respect for the sea and for the people on it.

How We Operate

Standards we hold ourselves to

The following are not marketing points — they are the specific commitments we maintain on every charter we run.

MPA-Compliant Safety

All vessels operate under Singapore's Maritime and Port Authority regulations. Safety equipment is inspected before each departure. Life rings, flares, and emergency communications are checked at muster.

Scheduled Vessel Maintenance

Each vessel follows a documented maintenance schedule aligned with manufacturer recommendations and MPA guidelines. Engine service records are available on request.

Certified Crew

All captains hold recognised maritime qualifications. Crew members complete first aid and sea survival training on a rolling basis. No charter departs with an uncertified helm.

Full Marine Insurance

All charters are covered by comprehensive marine liability insurance. Certificate details are shared with guests prior to departure on request.

Environmental Responsibility

We adhere to the MARPOL convention for waste management at sea. No plastic single-use items onboard. Bilge management follows NEA and MPA disposal standards.

Guest Data Privacy

Contact details and booking information collected during enquiry are handled in accordance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Data is not sold or shared with third parties.

About Our Approach

cahayacrenas operates from Singapore's central business district, planning and coordinating charters across the southern waters, the Sisters' Islands marine park, St John's Island, Lazarus Island, and the broader Riau Archipelago for extended passages.

The company's approach to yacht charter is rooted in the belief that preparation matters more than improvisation. Every route is considered in advance, provisions are arranged with care, and the crew briefing covers not just safety but the tone the guest has asked for — quiet and low-key, or festive and celebratory, as the occasion demands.

Singapore's maritime environment requires specific knowledge of tidal patterns, anchorage restrictions, and international waters protocols. cahayacrenas's captains have accumulated this knowledge over years of operating in the region, and it informs every decision made at sea.
